Wawiskas Community Hall

Recreational and sports activities have always been a mainstay of Heiltsuk people with team sports including basketball offered through the use of the community hall.  The hall is also used for funerals, marriages, birthday celebrations and other events.  A nominal fee is charged to offset the operational and management costs.  Youth activities that promote wellness such as Nights Alive are offered weekly.  This department is funded through transfers from Tribal Council. The flooring was recently upgraded and inspection noted that the building integrity and safety factors are intact.
